SAN DIEGO, Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. (NYSE: AHS), healthcare's workforce innovator and largest staffing provider has been recertified with The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™.  Staffing certification is valid through June 2014.

In 2005, AMN was the first company in the United States to be certified under The Joint Commission's corporate certification, and the company has consistently received recertification every two years. The recertification process includes an on-site review that addresses how staffing firms determine the qualifications and competency of their staff, how they place their staff, and how they monitor staff's performance.

"Receiving recertification from The Joint Commission underscores AMN's commitment to providing our clients with the highest standard of clinician and physician quality, which results in outstanding patient care," said AMN Chief Clinical Officer Marcia Faller RN, PhD.  "The certification is a testament to the rigor we place on providing quality in everything that we do at AMN Healthcare."

First launched in October 2004, The Joint Commission's certification program offers an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm's abilities to provide competent staffing services.  Joint Commission accreditation means an organization has complied with national standards for safety and quality of care, and is committed to continually improving the processes and practices that impact patient care.

"Health care organizations that contract with AMN Healthcare can look to Joint Commission certification as an assurance that AMN Healthcare demonstrates a commitment to providing and continuously improving quality services," said Michele Sacco, M.S., executive director, Health Care Staffing Services Certification, The Joint Commission.
